A sonorous journey into the thoughts and memories of a woman named Nina.
Her mother named her after singer Nina Simone, and that name became an inheritance, a lighthouse to find her way as a woman, her life, her own freedom.
Tonight, in a motel room, a few steps from the bar where Nina Simone began her singing career, this woman speaks to reply to the man standing next to her. She speaks because until then he has talked too much.
From one end of the night to the other, she will become another.

Julie Gilbert is a French-Swiss author who spent her childhood in Mexico. She has written for the cinema together with director Frédéric Choffat ("La vraie vie est ailleurs ", "Mangrove", "My Little One") and for the theater ("Outrages Ordinaires ", "Paradize Now!", "Frida/Diego", " Je ne suis pas la fille de Nina Simone”, “Les Indiens ") texts and scripts that deal with the question of exile and identity. She has also created performances, such as " La Bibliothèque sonore des femmes ", questioning especially the place of women in society; and she has created " Poèmes dits par téléphone" (published by Ediciones Héros-Limite) as a possible poetic resistance. Her other texts have been published by Passage(s) and Lansman editions, and have been translated into German and Spanish. She has been awarded the Swiss Society of Authors Prize three times, and was the recipient of the Textes-en-scènes grant, under the direction of Enzo Cormann, and also of the Pro Helvetia literary grant for the text " Au milieu de la nuit." (In the middle of the night). She has worked as a playwright at the Théatre de Poche/CVE in Geneva, during the 19/20 season. And she has realized a series at the theater "Vous êtes ici" in nine episodes, and an integral one that should have taken place in 2020/21 in all theaters of Geneva if the Covid had not prevented it.
